Hope for today

HOPE IN THE MIDST OF DESPAIR

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?

Put your hope in God.” Psalm 43:5

Your life may not be as you have planned and things may not be going as you would like. You may be experiencing challenges, difficulties or setbacks; no one is immune to the cares and the demands of this human existence. Your health may not be ideal, you may be unemployed, feel financially insecure or lacking in confidence, but do not lose hope. What will you do if even your hope is gone?  A person without hope has nothing to lose, nothing to look forward to and may do anything. If you’re going through hell, just keep on going. God will send you a means of escape and you will see His light at the end of your tunnel.

I have some good news for you. For anyone facing a battle, the Lord has assured you that He is with you and that He will defend you. Whatever your circumstance, trust God.  Trust Him in the bad times as well as the good. Moses encouraged Israel that although their fear of the Egyptians was understandable, they did not need to worry. They did not even have to fight because God Himself would be standing for them, to defend them. He told them simply to ‘be still’ and watch.

Look around nowadays, especially 9th August 2011 and you will see where an initial peace protest ended up as nights of senseless and destructive violence. Do not let a breakdown of this severity be your outcome. If you are enduring sadness and disappointment, then this is the time to pray. Pray that God would make a way to bring you out of any and every predicament, that your dilemma will not be your end

Isaiah 58:9 tells that God is saying to you: “When you pray I will answer you. When you call to Me, I will respond.”  May your prayers be answered and your despair replaced by happiness and bliss, in the Name of Jesus.  Amen.

PRAYER: Lord, I chose today to give You ALL my cares. I am trusting You to see me through this time of concern and despair. Thank You for hearing me as I sincerely believe in my heart that You have answered my prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
