'A friendly relaxing environment where locals can socialise, meet new people, extend their contact circle and make friends'
The Bethany Neighbourhood Link Drop-In facility was launched on Tuesday 14th January 2003. It is based in Chesterton Terrace, E13 and is supported by amongst others Newham Council, The Newham Community Police and The Scarman Trust.
Aim
We aim to provide a caring venue where local people can meet in a friendly environment to socialise and take part in community activities. Local people are encouraged to get involved in community activities by putting it right on their doorsteps, and give them confidence to use the local facilities as well as providing general information of what is happening in their area. All are welcome, you can become a part of a network, mixing and interacting with others to understand different cultures and therefore create a more harmonious environment.
Operation
Volunteer workers, who can competently convey the service, staff each session. Strict house rules are observed, e.g. no smoking, swearing or any such anti social behaviour. No alcohol, drugs or any such substances are permitted on the premises. Refreshment is provided free of charge at every session.
The Drop-In Centre is open every Tuesday, 11.00am - 2.00pm.
